KCCP is doing well since July 2 start-up

City Manager Steven Adams said that the number of people opting out of this has been below what they expected and because of that, he thinks that the City of King will meet their financial projections through KCCP. Adams stated that King City Community Power will at first fund the start-up costs for the first year of this program, but Adams is hoping that it will support free solar installations for low income families, the installation of new street lights and the City of King has also began a feasibility study to look at possibly putting in a solar power plant in King City. Adams indicated that the benefits people will receive if they are participating in this program include lower rates that are a half of a percent lower than what P,G&E is providing to start.
