Former janitor at Gonzales High charged with sexual contact with underage girls

In late May 2018 deputies were made aware of possible inappropriate sexual activity between an adult and juvenile. The suspect in the case was identified as 19-year-old Angel Eduardo Vasquez currently from Madera, who also goes by "Angelo". Vasquez was employed by the Gonzales Unified School District as a janitor at Gonzales High School. Due to the sensitive nature of the case the Monterey County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division took over the investigation. Over the next 3 months Investigators worked this case and learned that Vasquez had numerous underage victims. At this time Vasquez has been identified as having inappropriate sexual relationships with 7 underage victims. Vasquez was interviewed on Friday, August 17 and admitted to pursuing numerous underage girls between the ages of 14 and 17 and having inappropriate sexual contact with them. It is Investigators belief that there are an unknown amount of additional victims who are still yet to be identified. Vasquez was arrested following his interview with Investigators and booked into the Monterey County Jail on numerous sexual related offenses. Vasquez' bail was set at $200,000.00. Vasquez lived in Gonzales, Soledad and Greenfield. The Sheriff's Office is asking any additional victims to come forward. Anyone with information about this case, Vasquez or any possible additional victims is asked to contact Investigator Javier Galvan at 831-755-3811 or Detective Sergeant Bryan Hoskins at 831-755-3773.

Parks staff also contacted the Water Resources Agency (WRA), State Water Resources Control Board and Environmental Health Bureau.   Unfortunately, the fish die off has continued with larger species such as bass, catfish, crappie, carp, and trout being impacted. Attached photos include a 3–4-pound bass.   CDFW, WRA and EHB are working together to try t...
