In January of 2018 Officers from the King City Police Department received information that a 14-year-old female was being sexually abused over a period of time. The investigation was turned over to the King City Investigations Division. The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim, a 14-year-old female, disclosed she had been sexually abused by a relative over a period of 7 years at locations starting in King City and in the City of Soledad. The 8 month investigation culminated in the arrest of 29-year-old Marcos Antonio Morales-Delagua of Soledad. Morales- Delagua was booked into the Monterey County Jail on Lewd acts on a child under 14-years-old and the Continuous sexual abuse of a minor. His bail was set at $16 million. The King City Investigations Division was assisted by the Major Crimes Unit.
