A man wanted for stabbing a Greenfield woman more than 20 times in 2017 was arrested in Yuba City on Friday, August 10. Greenfield Police booked 30-year-old Agustin Cabrera Serrano for attempted murder after a 20-month long investigation. According to a news release from the Greenfield Police Department, Serrano stabbed a woman on the 400 block of 10th Street of Greenfield on January 20, 2017. Officers arrived and found a 50-year-old woman with 22 stab wounds including a cut to her throat. The woman was taken to Natividad in critical condition, underwent surgery and survived the attack. Detectives identified Serrano as the suspect who left the scene in a gold 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep was recovered by the Yuba City Police Department on January 22, 2017. Serrano has been charged with attempted homicide, corporal injury to a cohabitant, and criminal threats. He was booked into the Sutter County Jail where he is pending extradition to Monterey County and is being held on a $1,250,000 bond.
