King City toddler ejected in crash on Hwy 101

A 3-year-old King City boy was ejected from a red Ford F-150 pickup truck on Highway 101 near Salinas and Spence Road during a 2 vehicle accident that occurred sometime after 12:30pm on Wednesday, August 15. CHP officers said that an orange 2017 Chevrolet Express Cargo truck was traveling northbound on US-101 in the #1 lane, while the Ford F-150 began crossing both lanes of US-101 northbound and attempted to make a left turn.  Both vehicles collided in the #1 lane of US-101 northbound. Investigators report that the boy ejected from the pickup, was in a child booster seat behind the driver, but his seat belt was not properly fastened. The boy ended up being thrown from the pickup and landed on the southbound lanes. The 3 -year-old was transported from the scene by Cal-Star and airlifted to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center to be being treated for his injuries. The right front passenger of the Ford F-150, 37-year-old Heidi Cochran of King City, is the mother of the 3-year-old child. Heidi Cochran and the driver of the Ford F-150, 20-year-old Danielle Cochran of King City, did not receive any injuries as a result of the traffic collision. The driver of the Chevrolet Express Cargo truck 42-year-old Arnold Gann of Paso Robles, complained of pain to his leg. The accident is under investigation

King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
