Lake San Antonio, South Shore will close from May 1 Until May 4 for the Wildflower Experience Festival and Triathlon

 

Lake San Antonio, South Shore will close Thursday, May 1 through Sunday, May 4 for the Wildflower Experience (Wildflower).

The Wildflower Experience is a 3 day event including a weekend festival and triathlon (bicycle, running and swimming)

race. This event includes both races and a festival featuring live entertainment, celebration beer garden, wine

tasting and informative race clinics. Attendance is estimated to be 7,000 people including participants,

spectators, volunteers and employees. Race details are at https://www.wildflowerexperience.com/

South Shore will be closed from Thursday, May

1 through Sunday, May 4. There will be no

general public admittance at South Shore from

Wednesday, April 30 after sunset through

Sunday, May 4. South Shore will reopen to the

public at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 5.

North Shore will remain open to the public

during the event. Boat launching will not be

restricted at North Shore on Saturday, May 3

and Sunday, May 4 during the race. However,

boats may not access the area marked in red on

the map (at right) during the swim, which is

scheduled to take place from approximately 8

a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Both the bicycle and running portion of the event

will utilize several roads surrounding the lake.

CHP and Monterey County Sheriff will be

handling rolling road closures during race events.

Attempted Homicide Shooting Incident in King City on September 29

  The King City Police Department received a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 600 block of Sycamore Street at around 1 am on Sunday, September 29. While enroute, the King City PD was advised that 2 victims were transported to Mee Memorial Hospital by private vehicle to be treated for gunshot wounds.   Upon arrival, officers were told that a single unknown suspect opened the gate to a fenced yard and fired 10 rounds into a crowd attending a party. 2 individuals were struck by the gunfire, after-which the suspect fled on foot.  The suspect was described as wearing a dark colored hoodie and pants. The 2 victims are a 16-year-old juvenile male who was shot 3 times and an 18-year-old male who was shot 1 time.  Both victims were transported to Natividad Hospital from Mee Memorial and are currently listed in stable condition. 3 Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 Outside of King City on December 26

  A 3 vehicle accident happened on Highway 101 Northbound near the Central Avenue exit outside of King City at 12:07 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 26. One of the vehicles overturned as a result of the crash. Minor injuries were reported from the collision.
