The City of King’s approval of a new Grocery Outlet store to be located at 1023 Broadway Street has been held up in litigation for over 2 years based on claims the City failed to comply with environmental regulations. However, on Monday, October 21 the 6th District Court of Appeals issued a decision ruling in the City of King’s favor on all grounds. Among others, the Court made clear that it found “no merit” in the contentions that environmental regulations were not followed and went so far as to award costs to the City of King and the developer. The decision now clears the way for construction of the Grocery Outlet store to proceed. The victory demonstrates the significant efforts underway by the City to bring new commercial businesses and shopping opportunities to King City.
