February 20 is the Last Day to Register to Vote for the March 5 – Presidential Primary Election in Monterey County
SALINAS, CA — The last day to register to vote for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election is Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Eligible citizens can register to vote:
· Online at www.RegisterToVote.ca.gov by 11:59 p.m. on February 20, 2024;
· In-person by 5 p.m. at the Monterey County Elections office, 1441 Schilling Place – North Building, Salinas;
· By mail completing a paper voter registration application, postmarked by February 20, 2024. The forms are available at libraries, post offices, DMV, and city/county offices.
To register to vote, you must be: (1) a United States Citizen; (2) a California resident; (3) at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day; (4) not be in federal or state prison for the conviction of a felony; and (5) not found mentally incompetent to vote by a court.
Voters who miss the registration deadline can still register conditionally and cast a provisional ballot in person at any early vote location or at a local polling place.
