1 Inmate Injured in Stabbing During a Fight at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad on February 23
According to Salinas Valley State Prison Officials, a stabbing incident happened on Friday morning, February 23 at around 9:49 a.m. 2 inmates were fighting when 1 of them was stabbed. The stabbed inmate was injured and was transported to an outside medical facility but was released back to Salinas Valley State Prison after being treated. Prison staff did not receive any injuries and were able to stop the fight quickly as"Inmate-manufactured weapons were recovered, while the cause is under investigation. The 2 inmates involved in the fight were transferred to restricted housing until the investigation has been concluded.
