WASHINGTON, DC – On Friday, December 1 U.S. Representatives Zoe Lofgren (CA-18) and Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) announced that the Department of Transportation (DOT) will distribute $640,000 to the Transportation Agency for Monterey County to develop and implement a comprehensive roadway safety action plan.
“Mobility is key to our local economy and ensures people can safely access jobs, schools, stores, and more. We’re glad to announce federal funding for Monterey County to develop and advance plans that will help make roads safer for everyone,” said Reps. Lofgren and Panetta.
This funding is part of the DOT’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program, which supports the planning and implementation of comprehensive safety action plans to address roadway safety issues.
The DOT funding was provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which Reps. Lofgren and Panetta voted in favor of.
