SAN JOSE, CA – On Friday, October 27 U.S. Representative Zoe Lofgren announced that the National Parks Service (NPS) is distributing $750,000 to the Mission San Juan Bautista Preservation Fund to support the restoration and seismic retrofitting of the Mission Church.
“Mission San Juan Bautista is a historic landmark, and I support federal investments that help preserve and protect important community and heritage sites. We must ensure that future generations are able to visit and learn about our local and national history and culture,” said Rep. Lofgren.
This funding comes from the NPS’s Save America’s Treasures (SAT) grant program, which supports the preservation and conservation of nationally-significant properties and collections.
The FY23 consolidated appropriations package that Rep Lofgren voted in favor of provided the SAT funding that is being delivered.
