Road and Lane Closures on Highway 101 and Arroyo Seco Road in South Monterey County for the Week of September 17

 

MONTEREY COUNTY –Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for South Monterey County from Sunday,  September 17 through Saturday,  September 23.


Highway 101: Alta Street/Old Stage Road: September 20 – September 22

There will be full closure of the northbound and southbound off ramps of Highway 101 at Alta Street/Old Stage Road for striping operation work from 9 pm to 5 am. 


Highway 101: San Ardo – Paris Valley Road: September 18 – September 20

One lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 101 between San Ardo and Paris Valley Road for guardrail repair work from 8 am to 2 pm.


Highway 101:  Northbound Camp Roberts Rest Areas: Long-Term

There will be full closure of the Camp Roberts Rest Areas on northbound Highway 101 for work to upgrade the facility from 10 am to 12 pm.


 Arroyo Seco Road: September - December

Repair work along Arroyo Seco Road in south Monterey County began in September to repair  damage that occurred during the heavy rains and flooding in March. The repair work will occur at mile post 2.5 and at mile post 4.2. The road is open to residents who live along that portion of road, and they will be allowed access in and out of the area.


Once the repair work is completed, it will allow for the reopening of Arroyo Seco Campground, which was closed by the US Forest Service.


Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
