2 RIDERS Tie for The Big Week Bull Riding Xtreme Bulls Championship

SALINAS, CA, July 19, 2023 – A sold out crowd of 10,565 people watched the Big Week Bull Riding Xtreme Bulls event at the Salinas Sports Complex tonight. Presented by Salinas Valley Ford, the Big Week Bull Riding continues to be one of the most popular events held each July, selling out again, like it did from 2015-2019 and in 2022. Cullen Telfer of Plant City, FL and Denton Fugate of Ash Flat, AR tied for the championship, each with an 87-point ride.  Telfer rode Corey & Lange’s Stand by Me and Fugate rode Corey & Lange’s Cold Turkey in the long round to take the win. The championship buckle was sponsored by Rancho San Lucas.


Tickets are available for the upcoming California Rodeo Salinas July 20-23 twenty-four hours a day at www.carodeo.com. Thursday, July 20 is Tough Enough to Wear Pink night at the Rodeo. Fans can bring an empty Coca Cola bottle or can to the gate after 10am to receive a $5* admission ticket – a $20 savings. Gates open at 4pm and the show starts at 6pm. Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
