Greenfield Man Arrested for Robbery, Attempted Carjacking and Other Charges on June 9 in Monterey


According to a release put out by the Monterey Police Department on Friday, June 9 Officers busted a Greenfield man on June 4 after Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Foam Street regarding a robbery and attempted carjacking that occurred on Sunday night June 4, 2023, at 10:00 p.m. The victim was near his vehicle when two suspects approached him and demanded his keys at gunpoint. Both suspects began to punch the victim in the face and head. At one point, the victim was hit on the head with something hard, causing a small laceration to the back of his head. The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone from his pocket. 
Monterey Police Officers arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter. With the help of video surveillance from a nearby business, a description of the suspects was broadcast to the perimeter officers. One of the suspects was located on the recreation trail near Drake Avenue and immediately fled from officers. After an extensive search, the suspect was located and arrested on the 300 block of Foam Street. No gun was located. 
The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Abraham Andrade of Greenfield who was arrested for attempted carjacking, robbery, conspiracy, vandalism, and obstructing/resisting arrest. Andrade was booked into the Monterey County Jail. His bail was set at $140,000. The second suspect remains unknown.

King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
