Update on Track Improvement Project at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca

You may have seen heavy equipment heading back to the track area earlier during the week of May 14. After\ being open for some race events, the track is closed again to continue the next phase of the major raceway improvement project. The track closed on May 16 to begin a full track resurfacing project. Before you can resurface, you must grind off the old pavement and that work is well underway. Equipment has already made the first pass through the Corkscrew, although not as much fun in these vehicles. In addition, concrete is being poured to extend and repair the pit area and near the new bridge. Speaking of the new bridge – the massive new Start/Finish bridge is up and in place but not yet open. The last repaving of the track was in 2007. The entire project will be fully completed, cured and ready for the MotoAmerica Superbike SpeedFest from July 7 to July 9.
