Road and Lane Closures on Highway 101, SR 146 & SR 198 in South Monterey County for the Week of May 21

 

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, May 21 through Saturday, May 27. 


Highway 101: Jolon Road (Northbound)  May 22   – May 25

There will be full closure of the on and off ramps of northbound Highway 101 at northbound Jolon Road for bridge work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Jolon Road (Southbound)  May 22   – May 25

There will be full closure of the off ramps of southbound Highway 101 at southbound Jolon Road for bridge work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Jolon Road – First Street: Long- Term

Alternating lane closures will occur along southbound Highway 101 between Jolon Road and First Street for work on the bridge from 7 am 12 pm.


Highway 101: Jolon Road – First Street: Long- Term

One lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 101 between Jolon Road and First Street for pavement work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Front Street: May 20

One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound Front Street for striping operation work from 7 am 4 pm.


Highway 101: North Soledad Overhead:  May 24 – May 25

There will be one lane closures along northbound Highway 101 at the Soledad Overhead for sign work from 7 am to 5 pm.


Highway 101: First Steet:  May 22 – May 25

There will be full closure of the northbound Highway 101 off ramp and full closure of the southbound Highway 101 on ramp at First Street for work on the bridge from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: – Canal Street:  May 22 – May 25

There will be full closure of the northbound and southbound Highway 101 off ramps of Highway 101 at Canal Street for curb/gutter/sidewalk work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: – Canal Street:  May 22 – May 25

There will be full closure of the northbound and southbound Highway 101 off ramps of Highway 101 at Canal Street for curb/gutter/sidewalk work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101:  State Route 146:  May 22 – May 25

There will be full closure of the southbound off ramp of Highway 101 at State Route 146 for bridge work from 9 pm to 5 am.


Highway 101:  Camp Roberts Rest Areas: Long-Term

There will be full closure of the Camp Roberts Rest Areas on northbound and southbound Highway 101 for work to upgrade the facility from 10 am to 12 pm. 


State Route 198: Peach Tree Valley Road – Fresno County Line: Long – Term

There will be full closure of State Route 198 from Peach Tree Valley Road to the Fresno County Line due to mud, dirt, and rockslides.


Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. The King City City Council will formally consider the proposed city manager contract at its meeting on Tuesday night, January 13. Arreola's first day on the job is scheduled to be February 23.    José Arreola has a distinguished career of serving the community with a particular commitment to youth. He has worked for the City of Salinas for 12 years as their Community Safety Program Manager, Community Safety Administrator and Assistant to the City Manager. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
