Road and Lane Closures in South Monterey County on Highway 101, 146 & 198 for the Week of May 14

 

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, May 14 through Saturday, May 20. 


Highway 101: State Route 198 – Lockwood/San Lucas Road: May 18

One lane closure will occur along southbound Highway 101 between State Route 198 and Lockwood/San Lucas Road for guardrail repair work from 8 am to 2 pm.


Highway 101: Jolon Road – First Street: Long- Term

One lane closure will occur along southbound Highway 101 between Jolon Road and First Street for pavement work from 9 pm to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Jolon Road – First Street: Long- Term

One lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 101 between Jolon Road and First Street for pavement work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Front Street: May 13 – May 14

One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound Front Street for paving operation work from 4 pm to 7 am.


Highway 101: Front Street: May 20

One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound Front Street for striping operation work from 7 am 4 pm.


Highway 101: North Soledad Overhead:  May 15 – May 20

There will be alternating lane closures and full closure of the offramp along northbound Highway 101 at the Soledad Overhead for pavement work from 7 am to 6 pm.


Highway 101: First Steet – Canal Street:  May 15 – May 17

There will be full closure of the northbound and southbound Highway 101 on and off ramps of Highway 101 at First Street and Canal Street for pavement repair work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Eastbound State Route 146:  May 15 – May 19

There will be full closure of the southbound offramp of Highway 101 at eastbound State Route 146 for bridge work from 8 pm to 6 am.


Highway 101:  Wild Horse Road (Northbound): May 16

One lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 101 at Wild Horse Road for pavement work 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101:  Wild Horse Road (Southbound): May 16

One lane closure will occur along southbound Highway 101 at Wild Horse Road for pavement work 4 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101:  First Street - Wild Horse Road: May 16

One lane closure will occur along southbound Highway 101 between First Street and Wild Horse Road for pavement work 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101:  State Route 198 - Lockwood/San Lucas Road: May 18

One lane closure will occur along southbound Highway 101 between State Route 198 and Lockwood/San Lucas Road for guardrail repair work from 8 am to 2 pm.


Highway 101:  Camp Roberts Rest Areas: Long-Term

There will be full closure of the Camp Roberts Rest Areas on northbound and southbound Highway 101 for work to upgrade the facility from 10 am to 12 pm.


State Route 146: Highway 101 – Front Street: May 14 – May 19

One-way traffic controls will be in place along eastbound and westbound State Route 146 between Highway 101 and Front Street for work on the bridge from 9 pm to 6 am.


State Route 198: Pine Valley Road: May 15 – May 18

One-way traffic controls will be in place and one lane closure will be in place along eastbound and westbound State Route 198 between 1 – 2 miles west of Pine Valley Road for guardrail repair work from 7:45 am to 2 pm.


State Route 198: Peach Tree Valley Road – Fresno County Line: Long – Term

There will be full closure of State Route 198 from Peach Tree Valley Road to the Fresno County Line due to mud, dirt, and rockslides.

King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. The King City City Council will formally consider the proposed city manager contract at its meeting on Tuesday night, January 13. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
