Man Busted by CHP for Using a BB Gun to Shoot at Another Vehicle on Highway 101 in Soledad on April 25
According to the Monterey-CHP, dispatch received a call at 6:53 am on Tuesday morning, April 25 of shots that were fired on Highway 101 Northbound in the Soledad area from a suspected vehicle drescribed as a gray pick-up truck that had been shooting at a gray sedan. The driver of the sedan exited Highway 101 in Gonzales and waited for the CHP to arrive. Officers responded interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence. An investigation revealed that the gun shots fired were from a BB gun. CHP Officers responded to a residence in a rural area south of Soledad to follow up and continue their investigation. After making contact with the residents in that home it was determined that 25-year-old Daniel Ruiz Vargas was driving the involved vehicle at the time of the incident. CHP Officers arrived at Vargas' place of employment and Vargas was arrested without incident.
