Road and Lane Closures on Highway 101 in South Monterey County for the Week of March 26

 

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, March 26 through Saturday, April 1. 

Highway 101: North Soledad Overhead:  March 27 – March 31

There will be full closure of the off ramp of northbound Highway 101 at the Soledad Overhead for bridge work from 7 am to 5 pm.


Highway 101: Broadway: March 27 – March 30

There will be full closure of the northbound Highway 101 off ramp at Broadway for miscellaneous work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Canal Street: March 27 – March 30

There will be full closure of the northbound and southbound Highway 101 off and on ramps at Canal Street for miscellaneous work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: First Street – Wild Horse Road: March 27 – March 31

There will be one lane closure along southbound Highway 101 between First Street and Wild Horse Road for miscellaneous work from 7 am to 3 pm.


Highway 101: First Street: March 27 – March 30

There will be full closure of the northbound Highway 101 off ramp at First Street for miscellaneous work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Kenner Road – Lagomarsino Avenue: March 28

There will be one lane closure along southbound Highway 101 between Kenner Road and Lagomarsino Avenue for work along the shoulder of the highway from 9 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Alvarado/San Bernardo – Jolon Road (Bradley): March 29

There will be one lane closure along southbound Highway 101 between Alvarado/San Bernardo and Jolon Road (Bradley) for guardrail repair work from 6 am to 2 pm.


Highway 101:  Camp Roberts Rest Areas: Long-Term

There will be full closure of the Camp Roberts Rest Areas on northbound and southbound Highway 101 for work to upgrade the facility from 10 am to 12 pm.


Highway 101: Front Street: Long-Term

One lane closure will occur along Front Street at Highway 101 for bridge work from 7 am to 12 am.


Highway 101: First Street – Jolon Road, King City: Long-Term

There will be one lane closure along northbound and southbound Highway 101 from First Street to Jolon Road for roadway excavation and pavement work from 8 am to 4 pm. Motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.


State Route 198: Peach Tree Valley Road – Fresno County Line: Long – Term

There will be full closure of State Route 198 from Peach Tree Valley Road to the Fresno County Line due to mud, dirt, and rockslides.

There are some short-term and long-term road closures in Monterey County due to poor road conditions and debris on the roadways. King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. The King City City Council will formally consider the proposed city manager contract at its meeting on Tuesday night, January 13. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
