At approximately 2:00 AM on Friday morning, October 14 Soledad officers pulled over a vehicle for not having any license plates. 37-year-old Jose Navarro of Greenfield was found to be unlicensed. Officers took him into custody and conducted an inventory search of his vehicle, at which time they located loaded firearms, ammunition and narcotics.
Greenfield Detectives, Soledad Detectives and South Monterey County Task Force Officers were called to take over the investigation. The traffic stop led them to a residence in Greenfield. A search warrant was served at a residence along with a self storage unit, also in Greenfield. Task Force Officers and Detectives located additional weapons, ammunition, gun parts, a silencer, cocaine, methamphetamines, fentanyl pills and marijuana.
Jose Navarro was lodged in the Monterey County Jail on numerous weapons and narcotics charges.
The mission of the Greenfield Police Department, the Soledad Police Department and the SMCTF is to keep you and your families safe, no matter what the hour, you have their commitment to that.
