Firefighters in Greenfield extinguished a structure fire that broke out off of El Camino Real in Greenfield on Thursday, September 15. The blaze started at 3:25 am and was contained to the room of origin. Heat and smoke damaged 75% of the building. The Greenfield Fire Department suspects that arson is what caused the fire. The structure used to be a thrift store that closed down shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic started over 2 years ago. The estimated loss in property damage due to the fire is between $30,000 and $35,000.
