Man in King City Arrested for Attempted Carjacking, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Brandishing a Deadly Weapon on September 28
The King City Police Department reports that on Wednesday night, September 28 at 6:46 pm officers were dispatched to meet with a member of the community at the Police Department for a report of a possible carjacking. When officers arrived on the scene, they met the victim who told them he was struck by 2 subjects who attempted to carjack him. The victim said the incident occurred on the 100 block of South Vanderhurst Avenue and he walked to the Police Department to report the incident. While speaking with the victim officers determined the victim had sustained injuries from the attempted carjacking at which time he was transported to a local hospital due to the injuries he suffered from the 2 subjects. King City Police Officers reviewed city surveillance video and were able to gather additional information pertaining to the description of the 2 suspects. At 7:36 pm on September 28, a King City Police Officer was conducting an area check for the 2 suspects when he spotted a subject who matched the description of one of the suspects at which time officers detained the subject who was identified as 27-year-old Santos Andres Chairez. Chairez was arrested and charged with Attempted Carjacking, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Brandishing a Deadly Weapon. Chairez was later booked into the Monterey County Jail.
