King City Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Jail for Lewd Acts on a Minor

20-year-old Christopher Garduno of King City man was sentenced in Monterey County Superior Court on Friday, August 26 to 6 years in state prison for lewd acts on a child. Garduno must also register as a sex offender for no less than 20 years. Garduno pled no contest to a charge of committing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14 and also admitted to having another serious felony offense conviction. On August 28, 2021, Monterey County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a runaway 13-year-old girl who had returned to her home. The girl told deputies that she met Garduno on a social media app and that he knew she was only 13. Garduno convinced the girl he was under 18 when he committed the lewd act at the victim's home. After Garduno came over, the 2 left the home which prompted the victim's mother to call deputies. After a forensic test was conducted on both of them, DNA was located.

King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield. The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding. The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.
