Man Busted in Greenfield for Possession of Illegal Fireworks, Firearms, Marijuana and is Being Investigated for Child Pornography

 

According to the Greenfield Police Department, 35-year-old Gustavo Morales Castro appeared in court on Wednesday, July 20 charged with illegal possession of firearms, marijuana for sale and possession of dangerous fireworks. Castro's residence located on the 300 block of 5th Street was served a warrant on June 23, 2022 for an ongoing child pornography case and during the search, Castro was not at his home. Officers came across 100 pounds of illegal fireworks, an unregistered ghost rifle, a loaded Springfield XD .45 handgun with a scratched serial number, over 250 rounds of pistol and rifle ammo, 6 pounds of individually packed marijuana, over 12 pounds of weed in plastic bags and marijuana vape cartridges. Castro was identified as the owner of the illegal items but was on the run from law enforcement for several weeks. An arrest warrant was issued for him, and he was eventually taken into custody. The child pornography case is still being investigated.

3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
