Highway 146 Paving Project East of Soledad Continues with Closures During the Week of July 24

 

MONTEREY COUNTY – Travelers on Highway 146 east of Soledad will experience traffic control and full closures of the roadway next week as a paving rehabilitation project continues to move forward. Highway 146 is the main road leading from Soledad to the western entrance of Pinnacles National Park.


 


On Monday July 25, Tuesday July 26, and Thursday July 28, travelers will encounter a full closure of Highway 146 from the intersection of Highway 146 and Ramus Rd., east to the entrance of Pinnacles National Park.


 


The hours of the full closure will be from 7 am to 4 pm.


 


Emergency vehicles and National Park staff will be permitted to pass through during these three days of full closures.


 


On Monday July 25, Tuesday July 26, Wednesday July 27, and Friday July 29, travelers will encounter one-way traffic control on Highway 146 from the eastern edge of Soledad at Rubion Drive and continuing east to Ramus Road.


 


The hours of the one-way traffic control will be from 7 am to 4 pm.


 


Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes.


 


Message and directional signs will be in place to alert travelers.


 


This paving project is part of necessary rehabilitation of the roadway which will enhance the safety of all travelers.

Attempted Homicide Shooting Incident in King City on September 29

  The King City Police Department received a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 600 block of Sycamore Street at around 1 am on Sunday, September 29. While enroute, the King City PD was advised that 2 victims were transported to Mee Memorial Hospital by private vehicle to be treated for gunshot wounds.   Upon arrival, officers were told that a single unknown suspect opened the gate to a fenced yard and fired 10 rounds into a crowd attending a party. 2 individuals were struck by the gunfire, after-which the suspect fled on foot.  The suspect was described as wearing a dark colored hoodie and pants. The 2 victims are a 16-year-old juvenile male who was shot 3 times and an 18-year-old male who was shot 1 time.  Both victims were transported to Natividad Hospital from Mee Memorial and are currently listed in stable condition. 3 Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 Outside of King City on December 26

  A 3 vehicle accident happened on Highway 101 Northbound near the Central Avenue exit outside of King City at 12:07 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 26. One of the vehicles overturned as a result of the crash. Minor injuries were reported from the collision.
