Two Armed and Wanted Gang Members from Salinas and Soledad Were Arrested by Sheriff’s Detectives in Gilroy
During the early portion of the week of November 7, 2021 the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit and MADCAT busted 33-year-old Edward Carranza of Salinas and 34-year-old Christopher Verduzco of Soledad. Carranza and Verduzco are known gang members and had been on the run for quite some time as they were wanted Parolees. Previously, Carranza had been sentenced to 12 years in prison for assault with a deadly weapon on Monterey County Sheriff's Detectives. Both men were tracked down at a motel in Gilroy and were found to be in possession of loaded firearms at the time of their arrest. During the investigation, Sheriff's Detectives also discovered drugs and burglary tools. Carranza and Verduzco were both booked into the Monterey County Jail for their warrants, along with weapons and drug related charges.
