SPCA of Monterey County sends 2 Disaster Response Members to help with the Caldor Fire south of Lake Tahoe

After a call for mutual aid, the SPCA of Monterey County is sending Jacob Duarte and Angelis Lopez who are two skilled disaster response team members to assist El Dorado County Animal Services with the Caldor Fire which is burning south of Lake Tahoe, CA. Duarte and Lopez will be performing field rescues and other disaster-related essential duties. They will likely be there during the entire week of August 22, 2021. The SPCA of Monterey County is a leader in disaster preparedness and response. In 2020, they rescued, sheltered, helped, and evacuated over 1,400 animals from the River, Carmel, and Dolan Fires that burned throughout Monterey County.

3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
