Updated numbers from the Monterey County Health Department on Thursday, June 24 report that confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the County are now at 43,858 people, while 43,818 people have been released from isolation and 254,687 people have been tested in the County. 12,885 of the cases are out of South Monterey County which include 2,180 in King City, 2,752 in Greenfield, 6,126 in Soledad, 1,374 in Gonzales, 106 in San Ardo, 201 in Chualar, 68 in San Lucas, while 27 cases are from other cities or towns in South Monterey County. There have also been 29 cases reported in Bradley and 22 in San Miguel. In addition, 11,629 are from person to person transmissions, 4,888 have come from community transmissions, 1 is currently hospitalized, 456 people have died, 23,270 are under investigation and 3,687 people who work in Agriculture have come down with COVID-19.
King City Man Arrested on January 6 for Rape, Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor and Kidnapping
According to King City Police Department, on December 30, 2024 a 17-year-old minor female victim reported that she had attended a party on the 100 Block of Bedford Circle on December 24, 2024. During the party, the suspect provided her with alcohol. He then pulled the victim into a bedroom, forcibly removed her clothing and had sexual intercourse with her against her will. This case was investigated by the King City Police Department Investigations Unit which resulted in the apprehension and arrest on January 6, 2025 of the suspect identified as 21-year-old Jesus Oseguera Briseno of King City. Briseno was also booked into the Monterey County Jail charged with Rape, Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor and Kidnapping.
