According to a recent report from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, on Friday, June 19 an inmate at the Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad tested positive for COVID-19. This is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 at the prison among the inmate population. In addition, three employees at the SVSP have tested positive and one of them had returned to work, while two Correctional Training Facility employees tested positive and both of them have also returned back to work. The CDCR is reporting that 386 inmates have been tested for the coronavirus at the prison.
