An update from the Monterey County Health Department on Tuesday, March 31 reports that the number of confirmed conronavirus cases in the County has gone up slightly by 2 people for a total of 42. Ten of the cases are travel-related, 15 have come from person-to-person transmissions, seven were through community transmissions, eight people have been hospitalized, 10 are under investigation and now two people have died. The Monterey County Health Department has tested 616 people since testing in their lab began for COVID-19 on March 6.
