UPDATE: Name of Suspect involved in Vehicle Pursuit & Shooting with Police in Salinas Released



The Monterey County District Attorney's Office on Thursday, December 12 identified a suspect who is in critical condition after an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday night, December 11 as 42-year-old Daniel Macias-Victoria. According to the Salinas Police Department Macias-Victoria led them on a chase and fired a gun at officers. The pursuit ended after a standoff close to Old Stage Road near Gonzales. The Monterey County District Attorney's Office also stated that Macias-Victoria is a suspect in a Chinatown-area attempted homicide in Salinas on Monday morning, December 9. The victim involved in that incident is expected to be okay. In addition, back July of 2018, a 24-year-old woman reported to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department that she had been sexually abused by Macias-Victoria when she was a child in King City. After the first woman accused him of sexual abuse, two other potential victims came forward claiming that Macias-Victoria touched them inappropriately when they were children. Police arrested Macias-Victoria after a year-long investigation and charged him with lewd acts with a child under 14 years of age and continuous lewd acts with a child under 14 years of age.

Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
