During a special meeting that was held on Thursday night, December 19 in the Greenfield City Council Chambers the Council approved City Manager Paul Wood's recommendation after 1 to 2 hours of Closed session discussion to terminate Police Chief Denise Oglesby by a vote of 4 to 1. Oglesby who has over over 30 years of experience in law enforcement was sworn in as Greenfield Police Chief on December 20, 2017, but was put on Administrative leave sometime in June of 2019 for personnel reasons and since then Police Captain James Hunt has run the Department as the interim Police Chief. No reasons were provided by the Council regarding why Oglesby was fired.
