On Thursday, October 24 at approximately 12:30 PM, officers responded to the area of Cesar Chavez Elementary School on a report of a suspicious male with a firearm near the intersection of Thorp Avenue and Tuscany Way. As a precaution, Cesar Chavez Elementary School was placed on lockdown at around 1 pm while the report was investigated. Officers conducted area checks of the surrounding neighborhoods, spoke with citizens and reviewed city and home camera footage, but were unable to locate a suspect or confirm a crime was committed. Once it was determined that the area was safe, the lockdown was lifted within minutes.
