It's that time of year again as the Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated will be sending packages to servicemen and women serving in Afghanistan at their regular meeting at Lawrence's Restaurant in King City on Tuesday, November 5. You can also leave your donated items at the King City Rustler Newspaper Offices located at 522 Broadway Street, Suite A in King City. SMCRWF Secretary Kathy Fornone said that the troops are in need of paperback books, magazines, small containers of toothpaste, toothbrushes, chapstick, beef jerky, breath mints, small deodorant, foot powder and hand wipes. The donations will be handed over to Operation Care and Comfort to mail off to our troops serving abroad. For more information call 831-385-1333.
