At the King City City Council meeting on Tuesday night, October 22 at City Hall Mayor Mike LeBarre and City Manager Steven Adams spoke about the Helen Putnam Award that the City received at the League of California Cities Annual Conference at the Long Beach Convention Center during the week of October 13 for their Comprehensive Plan to end Youth Violence. In addition, after over 2 hours of discussion the Council approved to recommend that City Manager Steven Adams and other staff draft up changes to the City's Cannabis ordinance to address matters that pertain to allowing cannabis dispensaries, changes to tax rates, expanding zones where hemp manufacturing is allowed and other proposed Code changes. Over half a dozen people that reside in King City and the surrounding areas spoke during the public comment period to address the Council with different comments regarding what they think about this issue.
