The body of a man discovered on Thursday morning, July 18 in the Salinas River Bed in Paso Robles, has been identified as a wanted hit-and-run suspect. 40-year-old Pedro Alvarado-Torres, of King City was found at around 8:30 am by a resident who was metal detecting. Paso Robles police officers along with the Fire Department were dispatched to the area, while 30 minutes later, the CHP was paged because responding authorities had suspected that the deceased man located was a possible hit-and-run suspect who fled from a head-on collision that took place sometime before 2 am early Monday morning, July 15 on Highway 101, just south of Niblick road. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the identity of the deceased man is Pedro Alvarado Torres of King City and are investigating the cause of his death.
