On May 22, 2018 Officers from the King City Police Department contacted a 16-year-old female who reported she had been sexually abused by 34-year-old Raul Martinez of King City. The investigation was turned over to the King City Police Department's Investigations Bureau. The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim had been inappropriately touched by the suspect when she was 13-years-old and continued for approximately 1 year. The investigation took 14 months to complete and culminated with the arrest of the suspect on the 700 Block of South First Street in King City on Sunday, July 14, 2019. The suspect when interviewed by investigators admitted his wrong doings. Martinez was transported and lodged at the Monterey County Jail and has been charged with Lewd Acts with a child under 14 years of age and Continuous Lewd acts with a child under 14 years of age.
