Monterey County Supervisors approve to have more work done on roads

District 3 Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and the rest of the Monterey County Supervisors approved a Capital Improvement Project Timeline during their regular meeting on June 18 which aims to get a lot of work done on some roads in the area that really need it. Supervisor Lopez said that they're going to make investments in roads covering over 150 miles in the County for District 3 that will be restriped and stated that about 50 miles of roads in South Monterey County will be redone, repaved and rebuilt that include Old Stage Road, Alisal Road, portions of Iverson and Gloria Roads, portions of Paraiso Road near Soledad and some chip sealing near Metz Road as well will be done. In addition, the County is also investing in having River Road worked on in the Gonzales area. The funding for all of this work is made possible by Measure X and SB 1 Tax dollars.

Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
