Monterey County Supervisors are preparing to finalize their $1.5 billion budget for the next fiscal year. District 3 County Supervisor Chris Lopez said that the budget increased by $25 million and added that a lot of the money will be used for for their roadways, early childhood education and housing. The Monterey County Supervisors are expecting to approve their proposed Budget during the week of June 9. Supervisor Lopez also indicated that he's looking forward to construction work beginning on his new office in Greenfield to next week. A groundbreaking ceremony will occur on Thursday, June 20 beginning at 10 am off of Walnut Avenue next to Starbucks in Greenfield.
