According to the CHP and Cal Fire as many as 20 residents in 8 homes were evacuated because of a natural gas leak that broke out caused by a truck that crashed into a house that burst a gas pipe outside of King City off of Enfield Road and Pine Canyon Road sometime before 6 pm on Saturday night, May 18. The truck was heading north on Pine Canyon Road and the leak lasted over 2 hours. The evacuated residents were allowed back in their homes sometime after 8:30 pm. PG&E had to shutdown gas lines for an undetermined amount of time. Cal Fire crews were on site until almost 10:30 pm. A passenger received minor injuries from the collision and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
