District 30 Assemblyman Robert Rivas made his voice heard during a Press Conference in Salinas on Monday morning, May 13 by calling out Governor Gavin Newsom to resist President Trump's recent decision through the BLM to open up over 725,000 acres of public lands and mineral estate to oil and gas drilling across the Central Coast and the Bay area. This land is mostly in Monterey and San Benito counties including some surrounding areas of Pinnacles National Park. Assemblyman Rivas said that he is doing his part to take action on this issue and is urging other people to join him.
