A small grass fire sparked on the east side of Metz Road a few miles Northeast of the King City city limits a little before 12 pm on Monday, April 1. The Cal Fire Monterey-San Benito unit knocked down the fire sometime between 12 pm and 1 pm. The blaze burned less than one-tenth of an acre and did not threaten any structures. The CHP was also on site to assist with traffic control. No one was injured and the cause of the flare up is unknown.
