Winter Festival fundraiser at Chalone Peaks MS

The South Monterey County Joint Union S.D, King City Union S.D, San Ardo Union S.D and San Lucas Union S.D Migrant Education Parent Advisory Council will be holding a combined annual Winter Festival on Tuesday, December 11 at Chalone Peaks Middle School. They'll be soliciting cash donations, gift cards or gifts appropriate for middle school and high school students to be distributed to migrant students participating in the event. The Salvation Army has already committed to providing gifts for the younger students attending. In addition to the gift distribution to students, as part of the Winter Festival, the council members also raffle items to the migrant parents as a way of further helping the families and bringing cheer during the holiday season. Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
