Greenfield teacher arrested for sexual misconduct







































On Friday, December 7 at approximately 3:04 pm, Greenfield Police officers responded to the 50 block of Walker Lane on a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers contacted 47-year-old Jerry Mares and a female juvenile. The investigation revealed that Mares was having a sexual relationship with the female juvenile. Officers also determined that Mares is a school teacher at Vista Verde Middle School in Greenfield. Mares was arrested and charged for Sexual Misconduct and was booked into Monterey County Jail. The case is currently under investigation by Greenfield Police Sergeant Christina Gunter.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Greenfield Police Department at (831)674-5111. 1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
