On Tuesday night, November 27, Monterey County Registrar of Voters, Claudio Valenzuela certified the results for the November 6, 2018 Statewide Midterm General Election. The official results at www.MontereyCountyElections.us show a voter turnout of 62.8%. Valenzuela said that this election showed voter participation at 62.8% compared to the last two similar statewide elections of 2014 and 2010 which had voter turnouts of 45.32% and 63.32% respectively and indicated that this election saw the highest voter registration level in the history of Monterey County, with 187,286 registered voters. Valenzuela stated that they really appreciate the efforts of the 800 poll workers, temporary employees and the owners of the facilities that served as polling places for providing an invaluable service to their community.
