2 drivers from Monterey County are lucky to be alive after a 2 vehicle collision that occurred in Soledad on Thursday morning, September 6. According to CHP Public Information Officer Jessica Madueno, the accident took place at 6:25 am off of Gloria Camphora Road as 41-year-old Julio Guerrero of Salinas was heading eastbound in a 2006 Honda Odyssey and 54-year-old Carolina Perez of Soledad was traveling westbound in a 2007 Pontiac G6 which caught on fire. Both vehicles collided East of Highway 101 receiving major damage and had to be towed from the scene, while both drivers picked up minor injuries. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the accident. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
