On Tuesday night, February 20 at 8:23pm officers responded to the 100 block of Division Street in King City regarding a domestic violence incident, which resulted in a stabbing. A woman sustained multiple stab wounds which were allegedly inflicted by 23-year-old Giovanni Velasquez of King City who is her boyfriend and father of her child. Velasquez fled the area in a grey 2000 Toyota Solara, which was driven by 24-year-old transient Alonzo Marquez. The vehicle was stopped by the California Highway Patrol at the Highway 101 off ramp at Canal Street. Velasquez fled on foot and is at large, while Marquez was taken into custody. Marquez was booked into the Monterey County Jail.
Velasquez’
girlfriend was transported to a local trauma center to be treated for non-life
threatening injuries.
Velasquez
is wanted for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Domestic Violence, Child
Endangerment, Destroying/Concealing Evidence and Delaying/Obstructing an Officer. If Velasquez is seen, contact law enforcement
immediately.
