KING CITY, CA — SPCA Monterey County is making it easier and more affordable for South County residents to care for their pets this April. Limited appointments are still available for the SPCA’s upcoming Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinics held at the King City Recreation Center.

The SPCA Monterey County Veterinary Clinic is a cornerstone of local animal welfare. Last year alone, the SPCA performed 8,258 surgeries, including over 1,600 free surgeries for feral cats. Since its inception, the program has reached a milestone of over 195,000 animals fixed, significantly reducing pet overpopulation across the county.

SPCA Monterey County is your nonprofit, independent, donor-supported humane society that has been serving the animals and people of Monterey County since 1905. The SPCA is not a chapter of any other agency and does not have a parent organization. They shelter homeless, neglected and abused pets and livestock, and provide humane education and countless other services to the community. They are the local agency you call to investigate animal cruelty, rescue and rehabilitate injured wildlife, and aid domestic animals in distress.
