Beyond the Frosting: Cake4Kids Celebrates Supporting 100,000 Underserved Youth Nationwide

Monterey, CA — Cake4Kids, a national non-profit dedicated to delivering self-esteem and joy through custom

birthday, adoption, and graduation sweets, officially announces a monumental milestone in its mission: 100,000

underserved youth supported. While the organization is known for its volunteer-baked cakes, this achievement

highlights a much deeper impact: 100,000 first-hand stories of resilience, recognition, and community belonging.

For over 15 years, Cake4Kids has served children in foster care, domestic violence shelters, homeless shelters

and many other challenging situations. This milestone marks 100,000 instances where a child—who may be

navigating the most difficult chapter of their life—is reminded that they are seen and celebrated.

"When we talk about 100,000 youth, we aren't just talking about a number on a spreadsheet; we’re

talking about 100,000 moments of dignity, 100,000 moments of being seen," says Alison Bakewell,

Executive Director at Cake4Kids. "For a youth overlooked or neglected, a birthday can be a source

of stress. A missed birthday is a stark reminder that they are forgotten again. Reaching this

milestone means 100,000 times we were able to change that narrative into one of hope and

community support."

By partnering with over 2,000 social service agencies, Cake4Kids bridges the gap between community members

who want to give back and the youth who often fall through the cracks of traditional support systems.

MONTEREY COUNTY COMMUNITY IMPACT & CELEBRATION

To celebrate the children, volunteers, caseworkers who drive our mission, and honor our love of baking,

our local Monterey County chapter is hosting a community celebration:

● SPREAD KINDNESS with Cake4Kids at the Old Monterey Farmers Market! - Everyone who stops

by will be invited to make a simple, meaningful pledge to “spread kindness” — whether that

means volunteering or donating to a nonprofit, writing a kind note, or surprising someone with

a small treat. It’s a fun and heartfelt way to celebrate the little acts that make our community

feel connected. We’d love for you to stop by, say hello, win a prize, and share a moment of

kindness with us.
