Country Superstar Miranda Lambert to Headline the Big Week Kick Off Concert on July 11! Tickets go on Sale on February 12 at 10 a.m. at carodeo.com!

 

SALINAS, CA, February 8, 2026 – The countdown to Big Week begins in a big way as the California Rodeo Salinas announces that country music powerhouse Miranda Lambert will headline the 2026 Big Week Kick Off Concert on Saturday, July 11, at the Salinas Sports Complex.


One of the most celebrated artists in modern country music, Lambert brings her signature grit, storytelling, and chart-topping hits to the Central Coast for a high-energy night that launches the rodeo festivities in unforgettable style. As the most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music history – including their top honor for Entertainer of the Year–  Lambert has earned three GRAMMYs, 14 Country Music Association Awards, seven No. 1 solo albums and 10 No. 1 radio singles, cementing her status as one of the genre's most influential voices. 


Rising country star Dylan Scott will perform just before Lambert, plus future announcements of additional openers will be coming soon. The concert is presented by Taylor Farms and produced by California Rodeo Salinas and David Drew Productions, with media support from KSBW TV 8, Central Coast ABC, and KTOM 92.7FM.

Ticket prices are $60 for grandstand seats (ages 2+), $90 for standing floor tickets (ages 2+), and $100 for box seats (all ages).

  A fatal multi-vehicle collision happened on Saturday night, January 10 at 9:51 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 outside of King City. Monterey County DA Releases Preliminary Information Concerning an Officer Involved Shooting Incident that Occurred Outside of Soledad on December 16

  SALINAS, California- Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni on December 19 released preliminary information concerning the officer involved shooting (OIS) which occurred at about 1:20 a.m. outside the city of Soledad on December 16, 2025. Just before 1:00 a.m., Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputy Carlos Pina, who has been a peace officer for 10 years all with MCSO, and Deputy Blain Councilman, each in separate patrol cars, were dispatched to 32097 McCoy Road. King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position.
